Prof. Dr. Anupama Karki is a Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital — one of Nepal's foremost teaching hospitals. With an MD from NAMS and an MBBS from Dhaka University, she brings a rich international academic foundation to her practice.
Over her distinguished career, she has served as Deputy Director of Bir Hospital, Head of the Department of Dermatology, and Coordinator of the MD Dermatology Postgraduate Program. She is an active contributor to national health policy, including the STI Guidelines Update Committee and the National Antibiotic Treatment Guideline Development Committee.
Committed to generating evidence that improves dermatological care in Nepal and the broader South Asian region.
Current research investigates Helicobacter Pylori as an aetiological factor in Lichen Planus (Primary Investigator). She has supervised over 20 MD Dermatology residents at NAMS, providing comprehensive mentorship in research design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
